Shockwave therapy (extracorporeal shock wave therapy, or ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment that delivers high-energy acoustic pressure waves through the skin to injured musculoskeletal tissues. Originally developed from kidney-stone lithotripsy, it is now commonly used for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, tendinopathies, and calcific deposits.
